Gooddesign

María Catalina Ovando Chico graduated in Electronic Engineering and Communications from the Universidad Iberoamericana Puebla and a Ph.D. from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. She is Head of the Information Technology and Communications Unit at the Secretaría de Comunicaciones y Transportes (the mexican ministry of communications and transportation). Since March 2021, she has been Vice-president of the IEEE Communication Society Puebla chapter. In June 2020, she was appointed Member of the Fifth Advisory Council of the Mexican Federal Telecommunications Institute. Since May 2015, she has been a professor at UPAEP University in the Strategic Planning and Technology Management graduate programs. Her research lines are technology adoption and innovation in Mexico, innovation policies and telecommunications, digital platforms and their impact on productive industries, and telecommunications policy. She is also a member of the editorial board of Strategy, Technology & Society Journal; IEEE Puebla section member and a Mexican National Researcher level 1.
